INA, Ill. (February 7, 2023) — The Rend Lake College Foundation is proud to welcome Trish Reed as its newest Board Member. Trish has deep roots in the college and the local community, having grown up in Scheller, Illinois and graduated from Waltonville High School in 1985. After playing basketball at Rend Lake College from 1985-1987 and graduating from SIU-C in 1989, she went on to enjoy a successful 33-year career with Navistar and now serves as Vice President of the company's Zero Emissions initiative.
Trish Reed, the newest member of the Rend Lake College Foundation Board, brings a wealth of experience and passion
to her role as an advocate for education and community engagement
"Playing for Coach Hummer taught me the importance of teamwork and understanding one's role on a team," Trish said of her experience at RLC. "It's a lesson that has stayed with me throughout my life and is one of the key things I took away from my experience at Rend Lake."
With a passion for education and a drive to give back, Trish is eager to return to her roots in Southern Illinois and become more involved with the Foundation. "Rend Lake College was a great start to my journey and if I can pay it forward and make it a great start to someone else's, that is very important to me," she said.
"Her resume is impeccable as you would expect from a former Alumnus of the Year, but she is a better person," said RLCF Board Chair Tony Wielt. "She has been very generous over the years in giving back to the college, and we look forward to seating her as a Board Member."
