RLC Foundation hosts 34th Annual Golf Outing

September 23, 2014

WHITTINGTON, Ill. (Sept. 23, 2014) - More than 150 golfers teed off at the 34th Annual Rend Lake College Foundation Golf Outing last week at the Rend Lake Golf Course in Whittington, helping to bring in funds for the Warrior and Lady Warrior golf teams.

Foundation CEO Shawna Bullard said the event was a good testament to the local community, which continues to be involved in fundraisers for RLC students. In addition to the players and teams, she said outing sponsors Community First Bank, Rare Chophouse, Walgreens Distribution Center, and White Oak Resources were vital to the success of the day.

“The Rend Lake College Foundation is extremely grateful every year to receive the support from the players and sponsors at the Golf Outing,” said Bullard. “We appreciate everyone who plays, sponsors, and gives gifts-in-kind, especially those who continue to support us year after year and help us continue to give back to our students. We are able to provide a substantial amount of financial support to both of our golf teams and our student scholarships, which is our ultimate goal.”

There were two flights for the winners at the Golf Outing - A and B - for which there were first through third place awards.

Placing first in A Category was Team Drew with a team score of 53. The team’s players were Bryan Drew, Christen Drew, Jason Drew, Cory Smith, Thomas Stotlar, and Kent Tabor. Bryan Drew also won closest to the pin for the men.
