RLC Foundation hosts 36th Annual Golf Outing

September 16, 2016

WHITTINGTON, Ill. (Sept. 16, 2016) - Nearly 150 golfers teed off at the 36th Annual Rend Lake College Foundation Golf Outing last week in a fundraising effort for the RLCF, and the Men’s and Women’s Golf teams.

The outing, held at the Rend Lake Golf Course in Whittington, raises thousands of dollars every year for the Foundation and the teams. Foundation CEO Kay Zibby-Damron said she’s thrilled with the success of the event this year.

“Our golf tournament was very successful. We received a tremendous amount of support from local businesses, community members, RLC alums, and the RLC faculty and staff,” said Zibby-Damron. “With Rend Lake College recently being ranked the no. 1 community college in Illinois, I believe our supporters recognize that investing in our institution and our students will yield positive results. The proceeds from our tournament directly benefit students receiving scholarships and our Warriors and Lady Warriors golf teams.”

Winning the first place championship plaque was a team comprised of Vicki Rowland, Trent Hudgens, Eli Cox, Larry Giaconni, Jeannie Martin, and Andrew Mitchell. The second place championship team included of Beth Stedelin, Rich Stevenson, Bo Cook, James Gullen, Trent Timmons, and Steve Prather. Both teams shot a 61 with a scorecard playoff determining the winner.
