The renovation project included a complete overhaul of the Rec Center, such as the multi-purpose flooring and a new array of fitness equipment for RLC student-athletes, faculty, staff and the public to enjoy.
“Wayne, you are so loved and respected,†RLC Foundation Chief Executive Officer Kay Zibby-Damron said. “Over $100,000 was donated in your honor by former players, students, colleagues, friends and family. I think that is pretty incredible.â€
President Terry Wilkerson said Arnold had a revolutionary vision that a fitness center on the RLC campus could benefit the community.
“You are much more deserving than just a corner in the gym,†Wilkerson said. “To have a building that is dedicated to what you brought, the health and the idea of fitness and those kinds of things. You were ahead of your time.â€
