INA, Ill. (Aug. 18, 2016) - Locals in all of Rend Lake College’s district have the chance to take advantage of four different computer workshops during the Fall 2016 semester. Classes will be offered in Microsoft Word, Excel, and QuickBooks.
Beginning Microsoft Word will be offered at the RLC MarketPlace in Mt. Vernon and at the Murphy-Wall Campus in Pinckneyville. During this workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of word processing using Microsoft Word. Get hands-on experience with the menu system and toolbars; opening, closing, saving, and printing documents; and utilizing the spelling and grammar check function, in addition to other important tips.
The course will be offered from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 in Pinckneyville, Room 102, and from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19 in Mt. Vernon, Room 338. Each course costs $40.
On the Ina campus, Beginning QuickBooks will be held from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesdays between Sept. 20 and Nov. 8 in the Advanced Technology Center, Room 175. In this workshop, participants will learn how to set up a chart of accounts, reconcile a checking account, create and print invoices, track income and expenses, and generate reports. The class costs $80.
For those interested in spreadsheets, Beginning Microsoft Excel will be held on the Mt. Vernon and Pinckneyville campuses. This workshop will teach participants how to create their own spreadsheet using workbooks and labels. Values, formulas, formatting, borders, and shading will also be focuses throughout the day.
The course will be offered from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 in Pinckneyville, Room 102, and from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 in Mt. Vernon, Room 338. Each course costs $40.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel will also be held from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30 on the Mt. Vernon campus, Room 338 for $40. This workshop will expand upon techniques learned in the beginning course, focusing on adding graphics and using templates to create large sheets.
