RLC’s Sandy West elected as Illinois Heartland Library System representative

INA, Ill. (June 25, 2014) - Last month, Sandy West, Rend Lake College Coordinator of Technical Services and Collection Management, was elected as the newest Academic Library Representative for the Illinois Heartland Library System (IHLS). She will start her three-year term on July 1.

West has been employed full-time at RLC since September of 2001. She currently works in the Learning Resource Center and is responsible for collection development, cataloging, and processing materials for circulation. West holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Leadership from Judson College.

In addition to her position with IHLS, West also sits on the SHARE (Sharing Heartland’s Available Resources Equally) Bibliographic and Cataloging Standards Committee.

“Serving on the IHLS Board will broaden my current understanding of the IHLS function and support of member libraries,” said West. “It's was an honor just to be nominated, but to have been chosen by my fellow library members is something I am very proud to have achieved.”
