Bluford's Catron elected as RLC's 2026-27 Student Trustee

March 24, 2026

INA, Ill. (March 24, 2025) — Rend Lake College freshman Landen Catron (Bluford) was elected as the 2026-27 Student Trustee for the college. Outgoing Student Trustee Henry Meinert (Benton) will turn the job over to Catron at the Board of Trustees' April meeting.

Blufords Catron elected as RLCs 2026-27 Student Trustee

Catron is enrolled in the Agriculture Business and Production program, and he is currently on track to graduate from RLC in 2027. After graduation, Catron plans to attend Murray State University to continue his education in Agricultural Business.

"I am very thankful for this opportunity," shared Catron. "I wanted to be the next Student Trustee so I could see all the different aspects of the college, represent my peers, and try out a new form of leadership. I look forward to this new journey!"

The RLC Student Trustee has represented the student body since 1973. Catron is the 56th student to serve in the office, and will serve for the 2026-2027 academic year. He will attend meetings of the RLC Board of Trustees each month and will have an advisory vote on all action items. It is a great opportunity for a motivated student like Catron to get involved in a service role.

The next chance to run for student trustee will come up in Spring 2027. Students interested in running can learn more about the position at rlc.edu/studenttrustee
