Trader earns scholarship for agriculture studies

January 23, 2020

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Jan. 23, 2020)
Recent Rend Lake College graduate Mackenzie Trader was one of 10 students to receive a scholarship from the Independent Professional Seed Association this month.

Trader was awarded the $2,000 scholarship at the IPSA’s 31st Annual Meeting in Kansas City last week. The scholarship program was created by the Myron “Ted” Asplin Family to benefit the future of agriculture by supporting and encouraging the education of upcoming ag professionals. Selection is based on a combination of academic achievement, community and agriculture involvement for high school seniors and active college students majoring in an agriculture-related field. This year, there were 129 applicants for the scholarships.
