2009 tax levy accepted
Accepted the 2009 tax levy (payable 2010), which will be filed in accordance with Truth in Taxation laws. At $4,493,547, the levy is a 3.15 percent increase over last year. Because the levy is not greater than 105 percent of the prior year's levy, no Truth in Taxation hearing is required.

RLC supports Franklin County enterprise zone
Approved a resolution abating portions of the RLC district's taxes on real estate located in the Franklin County enterprise zone resulting from increases in assessed valuation attributable to improvements at the college, subject to certain limitations.

Stipend list revised
Approved revisions to board policy and procedure regarding stipends to include a stipend for a Perkins Coordinator effective Aug. 18 (first reading).

Children's Center's Talbert moving on
Accepted with regret the resignation of Anna Talbert, Assistant Child Care Provider for Infants at the RLC Foundation Children's Center, effective Sept. 11. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the Children's Center and will greatly miss the children, as well as my fellow staff members," Talbert wrote in her resignation letter.
