11/03/2005

Razzie, the Rabbit Who Loves Reading, is set to pop up at Family Reading Day to entertain the children at the Rend Lake College Foundation Children’s Center.

Family Reading Day will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Children’s Center. Volunteers from the faculty and staff of Rend Lake College will read children’s books to the youngsters during the event.

Razzie is scheduled to arrive at 9:10 a.m. at the Center. Razzie is a newly developed mascot for the RLC Family Literacy Program, housed at the RLC MarketPlace in Mt. Vernon. He gets excited about reading and encourages parents and children to read together, even wearing his RLC shirt while out spreading the word about the fun of reading.
