Guide to CAREER Agreements (Joint Agreements)

Rend Lake College District No. 521 is part of an interdistrict Comprehensive Agreement Regarding the Expansion of Educational Resources (CAREER). This agreement among Illinois community colleges allows students to take a career technical program at participating institution if their college does not offer that program.

Enroll at a Recognized Illinois Public Community College

Students who wish to take a program not available at RLC may apply to take the program at another participating institution at that college’s in-district rates.

  1. Fill out and submit a joint agreement form including the title of the program, participating college, and program type.
  2. Once you have completed the application, it is reviewed to confirm that RLC does not offer the program. Once confirmed, RLC will send the authorization to the institution you plan to attend.

Individuals residing outside the district wishing to attend RLC should contact their in-district community college for directions on their application process.

Tuition and Fees

Students enrolled in a program not available at RLC will pay the in-district tuition and fees of the participating institution. All students seeking state or federal financial assistance are required to make application at the participating institution.
