Available Departments & Offices
During Super Saturday, offices and departments across the Administration Building will open their doors to assist new and returning students.
Financial Aid
The Financial Aid office is here to help you prepare to pay for college. Financial aid comes in the forms of grants, scholarships, academic awards, employment and loans.
Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is an essential step for every student. It's even required for high school graduation in Illinois. Get help filing your FAFSA (Federal School Code: 007119), turn in missing verification documents or review your financial aid award summary.
Student Records
The Student Records/Registrar's office maintains the academic records of all RLC students. Stop by to have your photo taken for your individual student account.
Testing Center
The Testing Center offers a range of testing services, including placement tests, general test proctoring and testing for outside agencies. Take necessary placement testing before meeting with an advisor to ensure you are placed in the right classes.
Academic advisement
Our friendly staff will guide you through setting up a schedule at Rend Lake College. If you are not sure what you want to major in, don't worry! RLC's Academic Advisement team is experienced in discussing career paths and setting up a schedule to meet your goals.
Bookstore
Pick up your textbooks at the RLC Bookstore! Through RLC's All-Inclusive Program, a student’s course materials are now covered under the Instructional Support Fee. Fees are assessed to student statements at the time of registration allowing students to see their total costs immediately. This means students can manage their expenses upfront, making budgeting for college a more streamlined and transparent process.
Course materials can be obtained by completing the All-Inclusive Order Form*. Students may select a pickup date or choose to have their order shipped for an additional fee. Some materials received through the All-Inclusive Program must be returned to the Bookstore before the deadline at the end of each semester.
For a list of current course materials, please see the RLC Booklist.
* Due to special circumstances involved in the purchase of books for some programs, certain courses will be exempted from the all-inclusive program. The portion of the instructional support cost associated with textbook costs will be waived from the student accounts for the following prefixes: COSM, EMTP, HIT, MEDC, NURS and RAD. Students enrolled in courses with these prefixes will be responsible for the purchase of textbooks at an additional cost not associated with universal fees assessed to their account.
Business Office Payments
Though the Business Office will not be open during Super Saturday, payments can still be made! One-time payments can be made online by logging in to your student Self-Service account and choosing the "Student Finance" link. Using this service, you can select to pay by credit/debit card or electronic check. Students can authorize payments to be made from a checking or savings account or by Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express directly from their Self-Service portal.
