About This Position

 

Rend Lake College is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Program Coordinator – Adult Education to support adult learners in achieving their educational and career goals. This position coordinates student recruitment, enrollment, advising, career exploration, and retention initiatives while providing guidance on educational opportunities and support services. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and committed to student success, with the ability to manage program records, support grant requirements, and collaborate with community and workforce partners to promote lifelong learning and educational advancement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Coordinate recruitment and retention strategies for Adult Education/HSE students.
    • Facilitate the overall registration process: complete required forms, conduct standardized assessments, and place students into appropriate classes; enter this information into the college and state software systems.
    • Maintain student’s permanent file and enter required information into state mandated data system.
    • Provide and assist students with the tools to explore career and educational goals.
    • Document and update academic and career objectives in individual participant’s files.
    • Provide direct services to students, including providing general advising on financial aid, tuition waivers, admission procedures, secondary education certificates and degrees at RLC.
    • Monitor and follow up on student progress and barriers.
    • Facilitate workforce education activities as mandated by grants and partnerships.
    • Develop and implement a system to encourage transition of HSE graduates into post-secondary education to include career awareness activities, guest speakers, workshops, campus field trips, etc.
    • Provide and coordinate support to students by determining types of social services needed and work with students to coordinate those services.
    • Assist the Director of Adult Education with compiling required grant reports and applications, as directed.
    • Collaborate with program staff to gather statistics and data for program evaluation. Assist with developing reports to maintain college, state, and federal guidelines.
    • Submit adult education instructor time records to the Business Office timely and accurately.
    • Oversee the ordering, distribution, and maintenance of academic resources such as books, equipment, electronic devices, and web-based materials.
    • Submit all required forms to complete program requisitions timely and accurately.

//This is a 50-week, non-tenure track position

Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required, Master's Degree preferred. Major in Education or related field preferred.
    • Excellent computer skills required.
    • Good communication skills and attention to detail required.
    • Experience working with adult learners preferred.
    • Grant experience a plus.
    • All candidates will be required to pass a background screening process. 
Salary & Benefits
    • $40,000-$45,000 or commensurate with education / experience
