About This Position

Rend Lake College is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Assistant Director of Development for the Rend Lake College Foundation. This position reports to the Director of the Rend Lake College Foundation. The Assistant Director will support the mission of the Rend Lake College Foundation through scholarship administration, donor stewardship, fundraising support, and Foundation operations. This position serves as a key liaison between the Foundation and donors, students, community partners, and College stakeholders while coordinating scholarship programs, maintaining donor and financial records, supporting Foundation events, and assisting with board activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator with a passion for advancing educational opportunities and strengthening community engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serve as a primary representative and liaison for the Foundation Office, maintaining positive relationships with donors, scholarship recipients, students, community partners, school personnel, Foundation Board members, and College stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Foundation Scholarship Program, including application administration, selection committee recruitment and training, award processing, donor communication, recipient engagement, and scholarship fund oversight.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with a variety of audiences through written correspondence, presentations, meetings, and public events.
  • Represent the Rend Lake College Foundation at scholarship presentations, high school award ceremonies, donor recognition events, community functions, and other Foundation activities.
  • Assist with donor stewardship, relationship-building, fundraising initiatives, and community engagement efforts that advance the mission of the Foundation.
  • Deliver presentations and remarks as needed to promote Foundation programs, scholarships, fundraising initiatives, and donor impact.
  • Process and manage incoming Foundation deposits, scholarship and donor payment records.
  • Coordinates Foundation financial and administrative operations, including pledge and contribution tracking, accounts payable processing, and maintenance of financial records for scholarships, campaigns, endowments, and other Foundation activities.
  • Oversee and maintain the Foundation's donor and scholarship recipient database, ensuring accurate records and reporting.
  • Prepare year-end tax acknowledgment letters in compliance with IRS requirements for nonprofit organizations.
  • Maintains donor, scholarship, campaign, and compliance documentation; assists with annual audits; and supports adherence to Foundation policies and applicable 501(c)(3) regulations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Foundation Board of Directors, including meeting preparation, records management, and board member communications.
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of Foundation Board meetings, donor events, and other special activities.

//This is a full-time, non-tenure track, position


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree; or Associate’s degree with relevant experience required
  • Must be comfortable speaking before groups, delivering presentations, and representing the Foundation at public events and community functions.
  • Experience in fund development, office management, and record keeping preferred
  • Must be able to pass a background check
Salary & Benefits
  • $43,000-$48,000, or commensurate with experience
  • Full benefits including medical, dental, and vision.
