About This Position

 

    Rend Lake College seeks a full-time TRiO PROGRAMS DIRECTOR to coordinate the identification of first generation, low-income college students and students with disabilities; maintain program records and submit reports required by the grants; administer the Student Transfer and Retention Support and Upward Bound budgets; oversee program staff; serve as project liaison to the college staff, faculty, participants and community; and develop and implement all activities and services to meet the TRIO objectives, among other duties. // Full-time(50-week), grant-funded, nontenure-track position. 

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Education, Counseling or related field from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience designing, managing, and implementing educational programs for disadvantaged youth.
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience in higher education (Community College preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in student support programs (preferably TRiO), development and management of budgets, and personnel supervision.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Sensitivity to needs of disadvantaged students
  • Background similar to participants preferred
  • Grant writing experience preferred.
  • All candidates will be required to successfully pass a background screening process. 
 
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary $50,000-$55,000
  • Full benefits including medical, dental and vision; life insurance; retirement and paid-time off
