About This Position
Rend Lake College seeks a full-time UPWARD BOUND PROJECT ADVISOR. This federal TRIO Grant program helps eligible, potential first-generation college students develop skills needed to complete high school and enter / succeed at the college level. This person will: implement and evaluate project activities; assist in record keeping to ensure compliance with grant regulations; assist Director in preparing and submitting Annual Performance Report to the U.S. Department of Education and any other reports required by the U.S. Department of Education or RLC; help students become familiar with the college by informing students about academic policies and procedures; inform students of the requirements of various college programs; assist students in developing an educational plan consistent with career and life goals; provide referral and use of other institutional and community support services where appropriate; establish and maintain a genuine and open relationship between advisor and student including requirements for transfer to a four-year college or university; advise and assist the student in developing a schedule of classes related to completion of education goals; organize and attend Saturday sessions as needed; plan and attend educational, cultural and social field trips, which occasionally includes evenings and overnight stays; develop and implement project activities; provide students with educational, career, social and civic opportunities that will help develop leadership skills; and other duties as assigned by Upward Bound Director. // Full-time, grant-funded, nontenure-track position.

Salary & Benefits
- $35,000-$37,000 annually
