INA, Ill. (August 14, 2025) — The Rend Lake College Fall Play auditions for Anne of Green Gables will take place on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 6 PM in the RLC Theater. All RLC students and community actors ages 16 and up are encouraged to audition.
Anne of Green Gables is a family classic comedy based off the novel by L.M. Montgomery and dramatized by Joseph Robinette. The play follows the antics and adventures of orphan Anne Shirley who is adopted by an elderly Canadian brother and sister, needing help with their farm chores. Red-headed and outspoken Anne gets into many mishaps, but she manages to use her loquaciousness to get out of trouble and eventually charm the locals into becoming her lifelong friends.

RLC is looking for a talented cast of actors to bring these beloved characters to life on the stage. Those auditioning should prepare to cold read from the play script.
Rehearsals will begin the week following auditions, and will take place Mondays - Thursdays from 6 - 9 PM. RLC students are required to sign up for THEA 1102 (Theatre Practicum) and earn three college credits. The tuition for this particular class is waived, however student fees will still be required.
The play will take place November 6 - 9, 2025.
