INA, Ill. (February 11, 2025) — The fall 2025 semester may be months away, but the time to sign up for classes is just around the corner.
Fall classes begin Aug. 18 at Rend Lake College. Current students can schedule an appointment with your advisor now to register for courses later this month. New students can start making appointments later this month to meet with advisors in early March.
Fall 2025 Registration Dates
- Monday, February 24 - Priority Registration begins for AmeriCorps, Apprenticeships, Athletes, STARS, Student Workers, and Veterans.
- Monday, March 3 - Registration begins for current Allied Health, and Applied Science & Technology freshmen.
- Monday, March 10 - Open registration begins and advisors will start registering at high schools throughout the district. Appointments to meet with an advisor on campus or online can be made two weeks ahead of time, starting on Monday, Feb. 24.
Programs
Explore more than 100 degrees and certificates from a diverse range of programs offered at RLC. Our catalog has many options to either transfer an associate degree to a four-year university or complete a short-term training program that leads to direct entry into the workforce. We've even introduced new, A.M.P. (At My Pace) credentials that provide a flexible and practical approach to learning and earning credit.
Academic Advisement
If you are not sure what you want to major in, don't worry! RLC's Academic Advisement team is experienced in discussing career paths and setting up a schedule to meet your goals. There's also our Career Services department that has tools to help guide you toward the field of study that fits.
Advisement will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis. Book your appointment with a member of the advisement team at rlc.edu/academic-advisement.
Financial Aid
The Financial Aid office is here to help you prepare to pay for college. Financial aid comes in the forms of grants, scholarships, academic awards, employment and loans. Set up a meeting with a Financial Aid staff member and talk about your aid options. Email rlcfa@rlc.edu to schedule an appointment now.
Completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is an essential step for every student. It's even required for high school graduation in Illinois. To complete the FAFSA, go online to studentaid.gov. Be sure to include RLC's school code: 007119. For help with the FAFSA, contact our Financial Aid office.
Additionally, the RLC Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships, totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. The many donors of these scholarships want to ensure that every student has the resources they need to succeed at RLC. You only need to fill out one application to apply for every scholarship through the RLCF. The application opens Jan. 1 each year and closes June 1. Apply by March 1 for priority awarding.
