RLC Tuition Unchanged for Eighth Consecutive Year

February 15, 2023

INA, Ill. (February 15, 2023) — Rend Lake College is proud to announce that it will be keeping its in-district tuition rate unchanged for the eighth year in a row. The decision was approved by the RLC Board of Trustees at their meeting on Tuesday, reaffirming the college's commitment to providing affordable and accessible higher education to the community.

"At a time when the rising cost of living is on everyone's mind, we're glad to be able to maintain the same tuition rate for our in-district students," said Terry Wilkerson, RLC President. "We understand the importance of affordable education and are committed to removing barriers for our students. By keeping our tuition rate stable, we hope to make it easier for students to pursue their academic goals without worrying about the impact of rising costs. At Rend Lake College, we remain dedicated to providing a high-quality education accessible to all."

The decision to maintain the in-district tuition rate at the same level as in previous years comes at a time when many students and families are facing economic challenges. RLC recognizes the importance of higher education as a means of economic and personal growth, and is committed to supporting students in their pursuit of academic and career goals.

"We want to ensure that we strike the right balance between keeping Rend Lake College one of the most affordable and accessible community colleges in Illinois and ensuring the institution's long-term stability," said RLC Chief Financial Officer, John Gulley. "We believe our current in-district tuition rate allows us to do both."

The approved in-district tuition rates will remain effective through spring 2024.

RLC offers more than 100 degree and short-term certificate programs, and has a long history of providing excellent academic and vocational training.
