About This Position
Rend Lake College is seeking a motivated and service‑oriented Administrative Assistant to support Enrollment Services, Academic Advisement, and Financial Aid. This position plays a key role in assisting students with advising and financial aid processes, managing communications, maintaining records and website content, and supporting daily office operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail‑oriented, and committed to providing excellent customer service to students, families, and campus partners in a fast‑paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Knowledge of all programs, policies, procedures and personnel of the College.
- Knowledge of Financial Aid processes.
- Answer phone calls for Academic Advisement and Financial Aid.
- Respond to email for Academic Advisement and Financial Aid.
- Update documents and keep information current on the RLC website for Academic Advisement and Financial Aid.
- Coordinate all correspondence for Academic Advisement and Financial Aid, mail letters to students, parents, high schools, and others as directed.
- Assist students with completion of pre-advisement tasks.
- Provide financial aid information and assist with the application process for grants, loans, scholarship, and student employment.
- Perform general office duties such as making copies, filing, scanning documents, and sending faxes as needed.
- Update and organize advisement materials in the transfer center.
- Contact in-district high schools to obtain lists of students by graduation year and maintain database.
- Schedule, coordinate, and attend assigned meetings.
- Compile reports, surveys, evaluations, and other required documentation.
- Process purchase orders, invoices, and professional correspondence for Enrollment Services, Student Success and Development, and Financial Aid.
- Assist with balancing reports and verifying information.
- Assist students making appointments for Academic Advisement

Qualifications
- Associate’s degree required.
- Strong customer service, communication, and computer skills required.
- All candidates will be required to successfully pass a background screening process.
Salary & Benefits
- 36,000 – 38,0000 annually.
