About This Position
Rend Lake College seeks a full-time Controller for the Business Office. This individual will:
- Supervise general business functions of the Business Office including payroll and accounts payable/purchasing.
- Prepare, enter, and maintain journal entries for the College as needed.
- Establish and maintain a proper system of accounting, purchasing, inventory control, payroll, financial and budgetary control.
- Cross train in payroll processing and serve as back-up to Accountant – Payroll & Financial as needed.
- Serve as accountant for the Rend Lake College Foundation.
- Assist in the entry to and maintenance of the general ledger chart of accounts.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, and year-end reports, and Uniform Financial Reporting Statements.
- Supervise assigned duties of subordinate positions.
- Prepare local, state, and federal reports on a timely basis.
- Provide financial analysis data to college administrative offices.
- Maintain budgetary control and review of college account lines.
- Perform financial instrument management functions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited institution required; Master's preferred.
- Five years' experience in accounting or finance background preferred.
- Community college experience preferred.
- All candidates will be required to successfully pass a background screening process
Salary & Benefits
- Salary $70,000 - $75,000 or commensurate with experience.
