About This Position

Rend Lake College seeks a full-time Director ofInstitutional Research. The Director of Institutional Research providesleadership and oversight for the collection, validation, analysis, andreporting of institutional data that informs strategic planning, accreditation,compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the college. Thisrole serves as the central resource for accurate, timely, and actionableinformation that supports executive decision‑making, student successinitiatives, enrollment management, and institutional effectiveness. TheDirector ensures data integrity across all reporting systems, identifies trendsand underlying causes, and transforms complex data into clear, meaningfulinsights for stakeholders. Working collaboratively with academic, studentservices, technical, and administrative departments, the Director promotes aculture of evidence‑based planning while advancing the college’s mission,goals, and regulatory responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Preparing and submitting required reports to regulators and other agencies
    • Running error-checking reports to validate accuracy of data, and locating causes of any errors
    • Working with college departments in the use and distribution of information and data analysis with a goal of continuous improvement
    • Providing analysis of trends and possible causes in an understandable format
    • Working with technical staff to develop reports which provide data as needed
    • Serving as clearinghouse for distribution of surveys and aggregation of results
    • Collecting and organizing data on enrollment, retention, completion, student success, job placement, and trend analysis, and assessing outcomes and institutional effectiveness on this data
    • Providing data for Program Review, accreditation, accountability studies, grant applications, and quality improvement
    • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in related field required, Master's Degree preferred
    • Excellent eye for detail and accuracy
    • Previous experience related to research, data and analysis strongly preferred
    • Strong computer skills, particularly familiarity with Microsoft Office, required
    • Must be able to successfully pass a backgroundscreening
Salary & Benefits
    • $50,000-$60,000 annually, or commensurate with education and experience
    • Full benefits, including health insurance, retirement, life insurance, and paid time off
