About This Position

 

Rend Lake College seeks a full-time FINANCIAL AID DIRECTOR. This individual will: 

  1. Manage all financial aid programs and records.
  2. Perform Return of Title IV funds.
  3. Process outside loans.
  4. Manage student employment programs.
  5. Recommend and implement college policies concerning financial aid.
  6. Provide students with information and applications processes for grants, loans, scholarships, and student employment.
  7. Perform Professional Judgements.
  8. Reconciliation of all financial aid programs with the Business Office and outside agencies.
  9. Manage the Common Origination Disbursement (COD) with the Department of Education.
  10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Federal Title IV, Higher Education Act, FERPA, Privacy Act, and state regulatory laws.
  11. Complete various reports for internal and external uses.
  12. Prepare budget information.
  13. Complete Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP).
  14. Coordinate correspondence and other general office responsibilities.
  15. Counsel and determine the eligibility of financial aid candidates.
  16. Assist with recruitment and retention efforts on and off campus.
  17. Update and maintain the Financial Aid Policies and Procedures Manual.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned 

 

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field from an accredited institution required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in Financial Aid required, or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Supervisory experience a plus
  • All candidates will be required to successfully pass a background check. 
Salary & Benefits
  • $50,000 - $60,000 annually, or commensurate with education and experience.
  • Full benefits including health insurance with dental and vision; life insurance; retirement; and paid-time off
  • Free tuition for employee, spouse and dependents.
