INA, Ill. (September 25, 2025) – Rend Lake College is proud to announce that its Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program has been reaccredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) through Spring 2033.
“This recognition underscores the college’s commitment to excellence in our nursing program,” said RLC President Lori Ragland. “Our faculty are truly dedicated to preparing students for successful healthcare careers in southern Illinois and beyond.”
The ACEN Board of Commissioners granted continuing accreditation to the ADN program following its August 2025 meeting. The next evaluation visit is scheduled for Spring 2033. This reaccreditation affirms the program’s adherence to rigorous academic and professional standards, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education that meets the demands of the nursing profession.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with ACEN,” said Nursing Director Susan Wiley DNP, MSN, RN. “Accreditation takes work. I’m so proud of our faculty, staff and students … everyone involved. We are honored. We’ll stay committed to providing exceptional nurses for our community.”
The ACEN continuing accreditation process is a comprehensive evaluation that ensures nursing programs meet or exceed national standards for educational quality. This achievement highlights RLC’s dedication to fostering a supportive learning environment and producing skilled, compassionate nurses who are ready to make a difference in the healthcare field.
The application opens Oct. 1 for fall 2026 entry into RLC’s Associate Degree Nursing program. Visit rlc.edu/nursing to learn more.
