INA, Ill (September 10, 2024)—Rend Lake College is proud to announce that the Radiology program has been reaccredited for the maximum eight years by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
RLC’s Radiologic Technology program boasts a 100 percent job placement rate, 100 percent program completion rate and 91% exam pass rate (2023). The program is available as a day or evening option and offers an Associate in Applied Science Degree, as well as a short-term certificate in Computed Tomography. The program is headed by Director Holly Heisner and Clinical Coordinator Racheal Smith, along with Allied Health Dean Bria Robinson.
Joe A. Garza, M.S., R.T.(R) and Pamela S. Callahan, Ed.D., R.T.(R), representatives of JRCERT, recently conducted a site visit as part of the accreditation evaluation of RLC’s Associate Degree radiography program.
JRCERT is the only agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance and medical dosimetry. Specialized accreditation awarded by the JRCERT offers institutions significant value by providing peer evaluation and by assuring the public of quality professional education in the radiologic sciences.
In a letter delivering the decision to RLC President Terry Wilkerson, JRCERT Chair Dr. Mahsa Dehghanpour stated, “The [JRCERT] Directors and staff congratulate you and the program faculty for achieving the maximum award of accreditation from the JRCERT and wish you continued success in your efforts to provide a quality educational program.”
