RLC’s Heisner selected for ASRT’s Educators Institute

INA, Ill. (November 25, 2024) — Holly Heisner, Director of the Radiologic Technology Program at Rend Lake College, was selected to attend the prestigious Educators Institute at the American Society of Radiologic Technologists Headquarters in Albuquerque, N.M. Heisner joined 13 other Radiologic Technology educators from across the country.

This institute included a two-step process where Heisner completed several training modules and exams prior to the in-person event. After the completion of these trainings, Heisner was able to, along with some of her peers, present a capstone project on various topics including classroom management, methods of instruction, curriculum design, technology in the classroom and administration and record keeping.

"We listened to several speakers and panels that covered topics such as AI in Curricula, Government Relations, Developing Impactful Relationships with Clinical sites and several other important topics," shared Heisner. "There was a large opportunity for networking and to communicate with leaders of several high organizations involved in Radiology Education."

Heisner was selected and sponsored by Lambda Nu, the National Honor Society for radiology students. Heisner has been with RLC since 2014 when she started as Clinical Coordinator, then took over as Radiologic Technology Program Director.
